I love listening to individuals talk. Listening to tone, inflection, verbiage, and so on tells me a lot about the story.

I am currently listening to Michelle Obama’s book. She narrates the biography and it is great. She tells the tale so well that I can see the experiences she faced. More important, I can hear the challenges of the woman of color and the successes that we can find as we persevere.

Everything is in the voice. When I am coaching I listen to truth. I listen to women of color in order to hear commonalities. I listen to hear differences. I listen to hear that one challenge is not the same as another.

There is one constant. The woman of color shows beauty of authenticity in her voice. We celebrate these strong ladies this month. We celbrate those who are still in the midst of the struggle. We celebrate those who are still learning. Celebrate the evolution of the beautiful women.
